The families of teenagers unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an painful period of uncertainty for answers and requesting information about their children online.

The blaze engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Circulated footage reveal the roof structure catching alight as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Authorities have warned that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the disaster, which resulted in the death of 40 people and wounded another 119. Officials said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts still underway to locate the remaining few.

In the meantime, loved ones have been using the internet to plead for clues about their friends who were in attendance that night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his family.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, informed a publication that she had gone back to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in critical condition. It's horrific," she told the paper.

She continued that some of his companions had been discovered with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they endured hell."

The Italian government has confirmed that a number of of its citizens have not been located.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, who hailed from Italy but now residing in Dubai.
